Yesterday we featured a Whimsical Hen tutorial using FimoAir Basic in Terra Cotta.  This air-dry clay is also available as FimoAir Light and a few other formulas (see our ADC Brands page).   The FimoAir Basic is a heavy clay similar to DAS and the FimoAir Light, I'm told, is lighter and softer, similar to Hearty Clay.  Today we're sharing a PDF tutorial from Fimo which features these cute, stylized birds created with FimoAir Light.

Another easy owl!

About 6 months ago we featured a super simple semi-abstract owl. Today we have another easy owl from same author.  This owl would make a great pendant, focal bead or charm.   Tutorial suggests using Model Magic clay but many other brands of clay would work as well, including Cloud Clay & Creative Paperclay. Plain white is shown for this owl but Model Magic comes in many colors giving you the option of making a whimsical or natural appearance to your owl.

Angry Bird Tutorial: Yellow Bird

Here's a tutorial showing us how to make one of the Angry Birds out of clay.   In this video, Cecilia shows us how to make the Yellow Bird out of polymer clay.   This is one of the best demonstrations I've seen for making the Angry Birds and, so, even though she's using polymer clay, that's why I'm featuring it here.   I'm going to make mine out of air-dry clay and you can too.

Make a Papier Mache Blue Tit

Turn those waxed juice and milk cartons into a birdhouse!  Make some papier mache pulp to shape and decorate the house.   Use your imagination to add roof, chimney and other decorative elements.   Great project to do with the kids.
