Snoopy

Everyone's favorite cartoon dog Snoopy!  Easy to make...great for beginners (kid-friendly)....just follow these step-by-step photos (from an Asian website).  If you

Make a Minion ("Despicable Me")

This is a tutorial using edible gumpaste, however the process is same for air dry clay...you just don't have to worry about using edible markers and vermacelli.. Just use regular markers and possibly pieces of broom for the stand-up hair, clay for other hairstyles.

Lalaloopsy tutorial

Lalaloopsy by Starry Delight, step by step photos to create clay figure shown above.  Click on 1st photo (or click 'open photo viewer') to go thru the slideshow for added instruction.  She uses cookie cutters for cutting some of the shapes, barbeque sticks for the legs, and a flower cup to create a perfectly round head.   Optionally, with air dry clay, you could use a Styrofoam ball and cover it with clay for Lalaloopsy's perfectly round head (do not use foam with clay that gets baked).

This would be a suitable project for cold porcelain, Creative Paperclay or any one of the soft clays.

Modeling a Character Face

This is a well done 14-minute video showing you how to model a Bubble Guppies character out of gumpaste.   The steps for creating with air-dry clay are exactly the same except you can use white glue where needed.   When crafting with clay, there's no need to worry about edible paints and such, just use regular acrylic craft paint to highlight the eyes and other details.

Mario & Luigi, Step by Step

Create the video game character Mario in just a few easy steps!   Luigi would be done same way, just taller & slimmer!  ;-)

Update 2/16/2013:   This tutorial was initially found on a site other than the original (and some parts were missing).  With some research, the original tutorial was located which includes additional instructions for modeling the head.   Credit goes to  this Chinese site for this Mario tutorial.  Computerized translation doesn't work well with Chinese, so I've included a rough translation to English below the photos.    Please see original if you speak Chinese.

Bullseye from Toy Story

Step by step photo tutorial to create the horse toy "Bullseye" from the movie Toy Story.  Materials needed are cold porcelain or other air-dry clay in white, sienna brown, saddle brown and black, Styrofoam balls in a few sizes, plus some wire, dowels, wood skewers or toothpicks to reinforce legs.

"Lady": Make This Cocker Spaniel

Create this cute Cocker Spaniel from your choice of air-dry clay or cold porcelain.  Works best with the softer air-dry clays.   I think she looks like "Lady" from "Lady and the Tramp".  If you don't have pre-colored clay, you can pre-tint your clay with acrylic or oil paints or with gel food colorants.

Garden bunny shelf sitters

Aren't these shelf sitters cute? Easy to make and great summer decoration.

Made with air-dry cold porcelain, using rope for legs and pushmold for tiny flowers. Embellished with mini garden tools and wire. Good beginner project! See the Rabbit Gardeners tutorial at Creaclic.

Tutorial is in French but Google can translate for you.

Angry Bird Tutorial: Yellow Bird

Here's a tutorial showing us how to make one of the Angry Birds out of clay.   In this video, Cecilia shows us how to make the Yellow Bird out of polymer clay.   This is one of the best demonstrations I've seen for making the Angry Birds and, so, even though she's using polymer clay, that's why I'm featuring it here.   I'm going to make mine out of air-dry clay and you can too.
